What to do with tulip bulbs in the middle of May?

As a gift I got a pot of tulips and after they bloom I don’t know what to do with the bulbs, I know they can be planted but it is the middle of May and I am not knowledgeable about plants, can somebody tell me what ton do with them. Thank you

Sure plant them outside in the ground now and they will bloom next spring.
Reply:Where you live determines if you plant them now or later-- here in zone 7 they need the chilling as the person said. If you live north of Oklahoma, you probably can just plant them. In general, tulips need a time of cold weather-- then things change depending on where you live.

Would help you if you learn your planting zone-- your local nursery can tell you or you can find a planting map online.

good luck
Reply:Let the leaves die off. Then pull out, carefully, the bulbs and store in a cool dark spot until the fall and at that time can replant for next spring's bloom!
