What would eat green tulip leaves?

We planted a whole lot of tulip bulbs last year and something is eating the leaves. How do we detere it?

Bunnies and deer and an occasional squirrel!


There is a product that smells of rotten eggs called DEER OFF. You must apply it after every rain or watering, but if you do a good job it works the critters will not touch your bulbs.


I have heard that DRY BLOOD. It is a nutrient for bulbs that you can buy in a garden shop will be offensive to animals also.
Reply:Yes, it is deer. Try putting shavings of the bar soap Irish Spring around the plants. My parents have done this for years and have had great success.
Reply:Deer--they adore tulips.It is difficult to deter.I gave up,and plant daffodils now instead--they hate daffs.
Reply:use bug spray or if its an animal, put a small fence around them
Reply:Its probably deer. To deter them there are lots of products that repel deer. Most of them stink to high heaven. Personally I use fox urine because its the most natural. You can buy this at a local sporting good store that sells hunting supplies.
